Did you know that a translated man directed operations at the Relief Mine from the 1950s to the 1960s? After the passing of Bishop Koyle, Al Sinclair—who many believe is Alma the Younger from the Book of Mormon—came to the Relief Mine and served on its board of directors from 1960 to 1965. Among his many contributions, he played a crucial role in saving the Mine from a potential government shutdown. His most consistent message was the need for harmony, unity, and endless patience among all Relief Mine believers.
Soil Conditioner
Al’s Soil Conditioning Program was one of his most important teachings, designed to improve farming practices. The program restored planting soils and neutralized environmental toxins. Al emphasized that this would be essential in the future, when the land is poisoned by Strontium-90 fallout. Its key component was rock sourced from specific areas within the Relief Mine, which replenished depleted soils with essential trace minerals. Sinclair emphasized that this effort mattered more than the physical gold that will come forth from the tunnels.
To implement the program, the rock was to be crushed into a fine powder and spread over crop soils. It would then be lightly tilled into the ground. (Since Sinclair's time, the Mine has been tested and found to contain over forty trace minerals.) These minerals would result in higher crop yields, fewer weeds and pests, and better nutritional value in the food produced. Sinclair taught that consuming these enriched foods would lead to healthier bodies, which would, in turn, promote spiritual well-being in mankind.

Shocking the Ground
In addition to using the mineral-rich soil conditioner, Sinclair advocated for "electroculture"—a process of charging the soil with electricity to stimulate healthier crop growth. This was done using a modified lead-acid battery, which had its sulfuric acid replaced with a special liquid mixture made from crushed rock from the Mine. The minerals in this "acid-less battery" would generate special electrons that, when connected to a copper wire and a brass rod, could be used to pulse the soil with energy. The process involved walking the fields while periodically inserting the rod into the ground to charge the soil with the electricity.
Summary of What Al Taught:
- Grind a variety of rocks from the Mine's diggings and spread them on crop soils, lightly tilling them in.
- Modify a lead-acid battery by replacing its sulfuric acid with a special liquid rock-slew formula from the Mine.
- Use the modified battery to pulse the soil with electricity, enriching the ground for better crop production.
A Truly Godly Man
You may be wondering what other things this translated being had to say. Well, here is a quote from one of his letters to the Relief Mine board of directors:
To preserve harmony and unity, do not persist and insist on a course of action which results from personal conclusions, but instead, submit your thoughts, your reasons for so thinking, then willingly accept the majority determination and continue to cooperate fully.
What kind of prayers does a man like this offer up to the Lord? Good question. Here's one example:
Gracious and Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, we come unto Thee, in this our hour of need for guidance, and the gift of understanding, through our advocate, our blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our Heavenly Father, grant us Thy blessing of understanding which provides us that which we need personally, whereby we may correct our faults and our failures, and equipped with this understanding, faithfully and fruitfully render that device which it be Thy will we perform within the full limits of our talents and individual abilities. Strengthen us we pray, that we shall contribute our full measure to the development of harmony and unity, that Thy will be done. Forgive us we pray, our sins of commission and omission, this we pray in the name of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Amen (Derived from a letter by Al Sinclair, dated 10/5/1963)
